WINE VINEGAR RECIPES Harbourne English wine vinegar is made from Harbourne English wine.

Natural flavour salad dressing

4 tablespoons of wine vinegar

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar

1 garlic clove crushed

black pepper to season

Mix all the ingredients together and use as a salad dressing.

This can be made in greater quantities and will keep in a small bottle for up to 2 weeks.

Stir fry

Use wine vinegar in place of oil to stir fry meat , fish, or vegetables – lower in fat and healthier !!

Sauces

Use in sauces instead of wine – same flavour but more delicate.

Sweet and sour sauce

4 tablespoons wine vinegar

2 teaspoons sugar

1 tablespoon tomato puree

Pinch of chinese 5 spice

1 tablespoon olive oil

Mix ingredients together and cook with fish, meat or vegetables

Can be used as marinade

Barbecue sauce

8 tablespoons wine vinegar

2 tablespoons dark soy sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon tomato puree

Mix ingredients together and heat until sugar has dissolved. Pour over cooked meat or fish.

Can be used as marinade

Fruit dressing

Soft fruit – strawberries or raspberries

4 tablespoons wine vinegar

1 tablespoon sugar

Heat the liquid until the sugar has dissolved and allow to cool.

Pour over soft fruit and ice cream – a delicate and interesting flavour .

Can be used as marinade and serve fruit chilled.
